What and Where is “Bing Dao” Puerh Tea?
You may have heard of the renowned “Bing Dao” Puerh. This is one of the famous village producing Puerh in Mengku, Lincang City, Yunnan province. Most of the definitions refer it as the Bing Dao Lao Zhai (Bing Dao old village) inside Bingdao area. But nowadays, more definitions refer “Bing Dao” as the five villages in the area, including “Old Village”,”Nan Po Village”, “Di Jie Village”, “Bei Wai Village” , “Nuo Wu Village”. There are only around 200 tea trees inside “Old Village” . Because of the fame and limited quantity, the price is extremely high.
What is “Little Bingdao”?
It actually refers to the area adjacent to “Bingdao”. It usually includes villages like the “Little Village”,” Zheng Qi Tang” , “Bei Ka Village”, etc. in MengKu. The flavour of the tea from “Little Bing Dao” is similar to the tea from “Bing Dao”, with low astringency and high in sugar sweetness. And of course, the “Bing Dao” tea may have more “Cha qi” and having more lingering and long- lasting aroma. But “Little Bing Dao” is definitely an affordable choice if you are looking for similar thing and authentic thing.
