Hai Di Lao Zhen – the rare dancong varietals having exceptional aroma
Hai Di Lao Zhen (海底撈針), translated as “try to fish a needle out of the bottom of the ocean”, which described the uncommon and rareness of the tea, this is one of the most unique, rare and hard to get aroma of all Dancong Tea.
The mother tree of “Hai Di Lao Zhen” Dan Cong is the Shui Xian varietal from Wudong mountain. This varietal is not easy to be found with only limited production quantity – less than 60kg per year. Apart from its rareness, It is named as “Hai Di Lao Zhen” because of its unique and distinctive aroma. When brewing this tea, a very high aroma comes immediately by only using a small amount of tea. This Tea belongs to “Huang Zhi Xiang” Aroma (Orange Blossom Aroma), there is a natural and layered floral notes, with a lingering honey notes. It is one of the most aromatic dancong, and is especially lingering in its sweet aftertaste.
