2023 Gui Zhou Zunyi Black Tea

Zunyi black tea is considered one of the top teas in Guizhou Province. What sets Zunyi black tea apart from other black teas is its unique taste profile, which is characterized by a sweet, fruity flavor and a strong aroma.
The tea leaves of Zunyi black tea are long and wiry, with a dark brown color and some golden pekoe in between. The brewed tea has a deep, clear reddish-brown color. It has a strong and pleasing aroma that is reminiscent of dried fruit, honey, and flowers. It is very sweet with a smooth and full-bodied texture that is often described as being similar to honey.
Zunyi black tea has a long and rich history that dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE), the city’s unique climate and soil conditions create ideal growing conditions for tea plants. The mountainous areas of Zunyi City, which have an elevation of between 800 and 1,400 meters above sea level. The growing environment is characterized by a humid subtropical climate, with warm summers and mild winters.
