A Black Tea full of golden pekoe
from the famous town of Purple Clay Yixing Teapot – Yixing
When it comes to Yixing – a city located in Jiangsu province, the first thing that comes to mind undoubtedly the Yixing purple clay teapots, but few people know about Yixing Black Tea. In fact, Yixing Black Tea (宜興紅茶)is a famous kind of black tea from having long history of tea production, it is also called Yang Shan Black Tea “陽善紅茶” in the ancient time, as the ancient name of Yixing is called “Yang Shan”. As early as Tang Dynasty, Lu Yu, the tea saint, first recommended to the emperor of Tang Dynasty as tribute tea, and it was well known all over the world.
This is the fourth year we have purchased this first flush lot from a local family-run tea farm in Yixing. This batch of Yixing Black Tea is tightly twisted with lots of golden pekoe in between. The mouthfeel of the tea is rich, strong and mellow. The tea liquor is bright in orange-red colour, the taste is very sweet with refreshing fruity notes.It is a perfect pairing with the Yixing Claypot.

Making Process:
Plucking Tea Buds with 2-3 leaves. After plucking the tea leaves, it undergoes steps of wilting, rolling, fermentation, drying and baking.
