Pu’erh from the “Flower Blooming Ponds” in Yiwu
Impressive sweetness from Yunnan
This batch of raw pu-erh loose leaf tea is from Bai Hua Tan 百花æ½, located in Yiwu, Yunnan. “Bai Hua Tan” translated as Hundreds Flower Blooming Pond. As its name implies, hundreds of flower is blooming in this place during Spring. It located at the intersection of three rivers – Tong Qing River, Bu Long River, and Jin Guang River, creating a “Pond” area called Bai Hua Tan, whereas “Tan” means “Pond” in Chinese. The soil in Bai Hua Tan area is rich and creates an ideal natural environment for tea tree to grow, the tea grown in this area is distinctively sweet with forest feeling!
This Pu’erh Tea is harvested in this Autumn 2021, from local farmer’s Mr. Yan. Yan’s family has been farming in Bai Hua Tan for almost 100 years, since his grandfather. This Tea is a limited autumn batch harvested from a blend of several wild arbor tree in that area, the aroma is especially high with lingering sweetness, mixed with floral and honey notes, the layered aroma can last for more than 10 steeps. As it is stored for 3 years, it is slightly transformed, the intense grassiness is gone and the mouthfeel become more smooth, with sweet aftertaste.
