A special Green Tea made of the Ying Hong No.9 cultivar
When talking about the Tea of Yingde, people always think of the renowned Ying Hong No.9 Black Tea. This Yingde Green Tea is a kind of Green Tea made of “Ying Hong No.9”. This No.9 cultivar is originated and bred from Yunnan Big Leaf Varietal in the 1960s by the Guangdong Tea Research Institute. The tea leaves of this tea is very big, which is similar to Yunnan Tea. It tastes strong with lingering aroma, you can find the floral, fruity and green bean note in it.
Ying Hong No.9 is a kind of Yingde Hong Cha. Its name “Ying Hong No.9″is the short form of “Ying De Hong Cha”, and “No.9” is the cultivar name of the tea tree. This No.9 cultivar is originated and bred from Yunnan Big Leaf Varietal in the 1960s by the Guangdong Tea Research Institute. A great amount of Ying Hong Black Tea is exported oversea at that time, especially to the England and other European countries. It is said that Yingde Hong Cha is one of the favourite teas of the Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen used it to serve her guests in a banquet.
