What’s the differences between Scented Tea, Flavored Tea and Tea with floral notes?

Is all of the “Floral Tea” naturally scented or is it a flavored tea with artificial flower essences? There are actually 3 different kinds of concept when talking about the floral aroma in the floral tea:

Scented Tea:

The Tea is scented with natural, real and fresh flower. The Tea inside this box is a kind of scented Tea. It undergone the scenting process – Tea is blended and scented with real flower for several times, the tea leaves absorb the flower flagrance naturally. For example, Tea is usually scented with jasmine, osmanthus, rose and chrysanthemum. Flowers can be left in the dry leaves or being removed from the dry leaves after the scenting process, that’s why sometime you will find the tea looks exactly the same as the ordinary tea, but you can smell and taste the flower aroma apparently. So, don’t be surprised when you cannot find the flower inside the floral tea.

Flavored Tea:

The Tea is flavored with different ingredients by the flavoring process, the ingredient can be natural or artificial, but most of them is being artificial flavored. For example, it can be flavored with flower essential oil, fruit or spices. Earl Grey, Ginseng Oolong are the typical examples of flavored Tea.

Tea with floral notes:

The Tea naturally come with floral notes, without any scenting or flavoring process. Many Tea have some natural floral aroma which is usually very subtle and mild, which is totally different than the floral aroma of the scented/ flavored Tea. For example, White Peony White Tea and Osmanthus Dan Cong Oolong is actually pure Tea, not a kind of floral Tea though they have a flower name in their name.
