Lao Cha Tou Ripe Pu-erh Nugget
What is “Lao Cha Tou”?
Lao Cha Tou, translated as Old Tea Head, is a kind of Shou/ Ripe Puerh. It is naturally formed during the wet pile (Wo Dui) fermentation process, because of the heat and compression. It tastes very rich and sweet with jujube, fruity, sticky rice notes , with silky mouthfeel. It usually can be re-steeped for many times.
Making Process:
Lao Cha Tou (Tea Nugget) is naturally formed during the “Wo Dui” process, which means the wet pile fermentation process. During the fermentation process, tea leaves is gathered and placed in a pile. The Leaves became soft and low in permeability, thus the leaves will be stuck together because of high heat and high humidity and compression. Cha Tou , a nugget form of tea leaves will be found when turning the pile.
