This beautiful little teapot is made of natural Rock ore from Japan and Australia, with a special glazing technique called soda glaze. This sprcial material has good air permeability, which is similar to Yixing Purple Clay. In the soda firing process, soda ash/sodium carbonate is sprayed into kiln at maturing temperature, and sodium vapor combines with silica in clay to form sodium-silicate glaze. Each teapot is unique with own crackle pattern and colour. At first, the brand new teapot is clean and the crackle pattern is not apparent, but the beautiful crackle pattern (or Kai Pian pattern) will gradually emerge after repeated usage. Take your time to raise the teapot, magic will happen!
