The premium Sweet Dew – Meng Ding Gan Lu Green Tea harvested from Meng Ding Mountain
Meng Ding Gan Lu, is one of the oldest and finest tea from Meng Ding Mountain since West Han Dynasty, with more than 2000 years of history. There are two famous curled-shaped green, one is Bi Luo Chun, and the other one is this beautiful Meng Ding Gan Lu. It is also the earliest green tea in curled-shape, which is due to the unique making process of “three frying and three rolling” – which means it undergone the steps of pan-frying and rolling for three times. Meng Ding Gan Lu is considered as a premium kind of green tea through the ages, and once being served as Tribute Tea to the Emperor in Tang Dynasty.
Meng Ding Mountain, a renowned tea mountain located in Ya’An of Sichuan, reaching altitudes more than 1400m above sea level and annual rainfall more than 2000mm, creating a favorable growing environment for Tea. The harvest time of Meng Ding Gan Lu is relatively earlier than other Green Tea like Longjing and Bi Luo Chun, it is made of fine quality of tea buds or one bud one leaves material harvested in early Spring. Its name – “Gan Lu” means “Sweet Dew”, which indicates its delicate and refreshing sweetness. It is described as having three main characteristics, “beautiful shape”, “high aroma”, and “refreshing taste”.
