Tai Ping Hou Kui Black Tea
Kui Hong Black Tea made of the famous Tai Ping Hou Kui
Tai Ping Hou Kui Black Tea, also being named as Kui Hong or Tai Ping Hong, “Hong” means red in Chinese. Kui Hong black tea is made from the same fresh leaves of the “King of Green Tea” – Tai Ping Hou Kui, which is famous of its largest sized tea leaves among all kinds of green teas. The production method of making Kui Hong is totally not the same as the green tea, instead its production method is the same as another famous black tea – Qimen Black Tea. After the fresh leaves are plucked, it undergone the steps of withering, kneading, fermentation, baking and drying. The tea has an obvious orchid fragrance and it taste very sweet.
This year, we have chosen this batch of Tai Ping Hou Kui black tea from the same farmer making the Tai Ping Hou Kui green tea. As it is made of mature leaves of Shi Da Cha varietal, its dry leaves is still relatively bigger than other black tea, it is twisted and long. The tea is apparent in its sweetness, floral and fruity notes with a subtle orchid fragrance.
