Flower Brick(Hua Zhuan) Tea is a reformed kinds of Hua Juan Tea (also named Qian Liang Tea), There’s a saying that goes like this: “if there ain’t no Hua Juan Tea then there ain’t no Flower Brick”. In the past, Hua Juan Tea is packed in a form of cylindrical bamboo tube, which is very heavy and big. The production and delivery cost is very high as it is very difficult to be transported due to its huge shape. In 1958, Bai Sha Xi tea factory made several attempts to reform the shape of the Hua Juan, and finally the factory resemble the compressing technique of Black Brick, and compressed the material of Hua Juan into a rectangular brick with pattern on it, which become the Flower Brick nowadays.
